With frequent use of brooches or pins – from frequently pinning and unpinning them – the opening in the closure cap can loosen slightly over time. This causes the cap to fit less tightly around the pin, and the brooch can become looser. To prevent a brooch or pin from becoming loose, it's wise to use a new cap as soon as the customer notices that the closure is no longer secure.
